Last month, on the hottest day on record in the UK, a group of amusement park guests found themselves stranded and immobile on a roller coaster for several minutes.

As there were no other means of rescue, guests had to descend a 65-foot staircase to return to ground level. But to ensure their safety and health, they were provided with harnesses and water bottles.

Photos of the terrifying incident went viral after being shared on Twitter by user Dean (@dean8001).

Dean advised that the runners had been evacuated from the summit by park officials. Water bottles and a harness were provided for them to return to the ground safely.
