Leading action camera maker Insta360 is set to launch a new product later this month, and it’s letting the world know (just a little bit) with a teaser video that was released today.

Producer of the popular One X pocket camera, the modular GoPro-sized One R and the tiny but rugged Go 2 which has become a huge hit with drone pilots looking for an extra high definition eye in the sky, Insta360 gave the world a peek at its teaser video this morning. Despite the attention-grabbing scenes, however, the film intentionally left a lot of questions unanswered about the upcoming product itself – primarily, what it looks like and will do. The company was less shy about the release date of its latest device, titled the video “Our Next Camera – March 22”.

It’s probably 2022, but stay tuned to this channel just in case.

Given its status as the world leader in consumer 360 cameras, it’s probably not crazy to speculate that Insta360’s new offering will seek to build on its lineup by adding new features to the product’s existing functionality. A hint of what this may entail can be found in the #BuiltToAdapt link attached to the YouTube video teaser, as well as footage from the 35-second film relying heavily on horizontally split-screenshots of types of action footage. very different.

“Our next camera is designed to fit…and it’s coming March 22,” the sidebar reads, further emphasizing the new camera’s thematic versatility. “Get your preview here: https://bit.ly/Builttoadapt_yt.”

The mystery of how adaptable the new Insta360 camera is to predecessors or rivals should be solved within a week.

This release date comes nearly a year after the company rolled out its GO 2 product, which features a 1/2″ sensor capable of 2k at 50fps, 120fps slow motion at 1080p and a bit rate doubled to 80 Mbps. The device saves MP4 files stored on the 32 GB internal memory. It is tiny, robust, waterproof and has replaceable covers to protect the all-important lens in the event of an accident. No wonder it has become a favorite capture device of drone pilots in particular.

Awaiting the product unveiling next week, Insta360 invites users to try and win one of the mystery cameras for free. To do this, candidates must register on the company’s website pagethen leave a comment under his YouTube teaser video with a description of how they will use the new camera – no mean feat, with so little about it apart from its adaptability. The winner will be revealed, along with the camera, on March 22.
