Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones in February of next year. The series is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Now, an alleged live image of the base model – the Galaxy S22 – has surfaced. The handset in the picture sports a design very similar to that of the base Galaxy S21 model. The difference appears in the form of the glossy finish compared to the matte glass back panel of the Galaxy S21.
The image was share on Weibo by well-known tipster Ice Universe. Besides the previously mentioned change from the Galaxy S21, the Samsung Galaxy S22 appears to sport a redesigned camera module. Samsung appears to have installed the camera lenses on a protruding oblong, unlike the S21 where the lenses were below the surface. Previous leaks have suggested that the base Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + will feature a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f / 1.8 aperture lens. The main sensor is designed to pair with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The two smartphones would be equipped with a 10 megapixel sensor.
Previously, it had been stated that the Galaxy S22 would be priced at $ 799 (around Rs. 60,000). It is also said to have a 6.06 inch display with Full HD + resolution. Additionally, this handset was reportedly spotted on the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website. The alleged FCC listing mentions that the Galaxy S22 will come with 5G and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, as well as Bluetooth and NFC support.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has also reportedly been listed on the FCC website. According to the report, it is supposed to offer LTE, 5G NR, and Wi-Fi 6 multiband support. Additionally, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is designed to support wireless charging.
