The Huawei Mate 50 series will be launched on September 6 and alongside this launch event, the company is also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Mate series. As we enter the 10th year of this launch carnival, Huawei Consumer BG CEO Yu Chengdong has blessed us with a fresh image of all the Mate series devices launched so far.

The image shows all Huawei Mate series devices, including Mate 1, Mate 2, Mate 7, Mate 8, Mate 9, Mate 10, Mate 20, Mate 30 and Mate 40 series.

That’s not it, Yu also shared how the Huawei Mate series has evolved over the years and remained optimistic about the next decade which is yet to come and filled with many new technologies.

Below, you can check all the Mate series devices along with their launch year and launch theme.

In January 2013, Huawei unveiled the first Mate phone (1) for the general public with the theme of “My Pocket Cinema”. The phone offers a large screen and runs Android software.

In March 2014, Huawei Mate 2 debuted with the theme tag “Thinking is too far”

At the end of 2014, Huawei launched another companion device – Mate 7, which fits the theme of “Jazz Life”. Since then, Huawei started releasing two flagship devices in a year, including a P series in the first half, starting with the P8 series.

In November 2015, Huawei announced the Mate 8 as “a breakthrough in high performance and battery life”.

The Huawei Mate 9 series was launched in November 2016, offering excellent design and performance using a Kirin processor and a “Progress Go Further” theme tag.

The Mate 10 series entered the markets in October 2017 with all-new improvements in design and camera system along with a tag of “foreseeing the future”

There’s a device in the middle that was introduced in early 2018, called the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design with the theme ‘Hail Back then’.

The real developments and progress were greatly achieved by the successor Mate 20, also released in the second half of 2018, it is also the latest Mate phone with GMS. Still, the phone comes with an all-new area camera system and plenty to explore with its notch design. Don’t forget its slogan “New Heights of greatness.

September 2019 introduces the new Huawei Mate 30 series, which is themed “rebuilding the imagination” with its new ring camera system.

In 2020, Huawei unveiled the Mate 40 series with the slogan “Let’s see the extraordinary” and a bunch of improvements in the design and all aspects of the smartphone.

In September this year, we will meet the Huawei mate 50 series with a tag of “dawn escape, meet at the top”. Yes, the Mate 50 series has some interesting secrets and new technologies in store for us, and we will surely be excited to see them on September 6.
